Characteristics
The four defining characteristics of a Coon Rapids Cheerleader are:
Kindness – show kindness to all fellow cheerleaders, coaches, students, teachers, school staff, and community members.
Positivity – maintain a positive attitude through both good times and bad.
Dedication – cheerleaders will show dedication to their squad and their schoolwork.
Leadership – cheerleaders are kind, positive, and dedicated leaders at cheer events and in the school and community.
Purpose
The purpose of the CRHS Sideline squads are to:
Promote school spirit and loyalty
Encourage all athletic organizations to support each other
Encourage good sportsmanship between members of organizations and the community
Develop leadership abilities
Perform to the best of abilities
Set good examples for others by obeying school rules and Minnesota State High School League rules.
Goals
The goals for sideline cheerleaders are to:
Have fun!
Represent Coon Rapids as best as we can.
Develop life skills and character.
Fall Sideline
For fall sideline we cheer for the Varsity and JV football teams. The season runs from June-October. Tryouts happen during the spring the school year prior to the season starting.
Winter Sideline
For winter sideline we cheer for boys basketball, wrestling, and boys hockey. We have separate squads for each. The season runs from November-March. Tryouts happen at the end of October. Cheerleaders must be registered for winter sideline cheer before they can tryout.
